I'm sure some of you are at the point you would adopt an incredibly strict diet to cure your gerd so thought i would post for you people i spent years battling painful gerd i would get lumps in my throat when eating, tons of mucus, heartburn, heart palpitatons i would have significant trouble breathing. Heartburn is the acidic burning up your esophagus. acid reflux can be a number of things. for me it's a tightening in the chest, an ache and random stabbing pains all over my chest and upper back, as well as a "full" and "heavy" feeling in my chest. it's not painful but is incredibly uncomfortable. i rarely get heartburn with it.. I investigated getting surgical intervention, such as linx or fundoplication but ultimately as i didn't have the standard indicators for gerd my doctors were unwilling to move forward with this. finally, what provided a hint towards a real treatment was the fact that i was put on sertraline for anxiety, and my symptoms disappeared for 2-3 weeks..
